Controller

Tarvos Talent is seeking a Controller for a lender located in Austin, TX. This is a fast growing company and is an incredible opportunity to shape and mold a developing accounting team. This role will report directly to the CFO and has excellent exposure to firm ownership. This in-office role has great balance and is in a dynamic industry.

This role will oversee accounting for a growing lender and offers the opportunity to make a true impact in a highly visible seat. With a beautiful East Austin office, great culture, and focus on employee wellbeing, this is an outstanding opportunity for someone ready to step into a role where their work truly matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting activities across a large and growing mortgage portfolio
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with accuracy and ownership
  • Prepare and review financial reporting, investor deliverables, capital activity, and supporting schedules
  • Support process improvements, internal controls, and special projects as the firm continues to scale

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license required
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with mortgage experience required
  • Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and analytical skills
  • Highly proactive, team-oriented mindset with a “no job is too small” approach
