Tarvos Talent is seeking an experienced Controller for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a respected nonprofit organization in Central Austin. This hybrid role offers the chance to strengthen financial operations, modernize accounting processes, and make a meaningful impact within a mission-driven organization.
 
As the Controller, you’ll oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance while supporting budgeting and cash flow planning. You’ll also help develop the accounting team, improve internal processes, and introduce new technologies to create greater efficiency across the finance function.
 
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of accounting experience, a strong background in nonprofit accounting (required), and familiarity with fund accounting software such as MIP or comparable systems. Advanced Excel skills, a process-improvement mindset, and an interest in leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows will be key to success in this hands-on leadership role.
